The Cambodian government is gearing up to start constructing the new Chak Angre Krom – Prek Pra Bridge across the Bassac River next month. This bridge will connect Chak Angre Krom in Khan Meanchey to the east bank of Khan Chbar Ampov in Phnom Penh. Construction was expected to start on February 19, 2024, and the first pillar drilling was scheduled for late January 2024.

Only one bridge connects National Road No. 1 in the Chbar Ampov district across the Bassac River. Monivong Bridge serves as the primary connection and is stuffed with traffic. This new bridge project across the Bassac River (Chak Angre Krom-Prek Pra) aims to alleviate traffic congestion.
