John James O’Connor joined IPS in 2022 as Director of Foreign Investment after a long career as a Financial Futures Trader and Property Investment Strategist. John has a very strong research background and holds a Ph.D in Geography from Trinity College Dublin. He is particularly interested in demographics and economics and developed an avid interest in the Asian growth story through the last 20 years. Having been Division Head and Lead Derivatives Trader at a leading global proprietary trading firm based in Chicago, John retired aged 40 to pursue collaborative private capital management of funds across diverse asset classes including international property investments. With a great love for Cambodia, its people and its future growth prospects, John is the key sounding board and expert analyst for our large pool of foreign investors.
