Simple Steps To Obtain A Cambodian Retirement Visa

  1. Apply for an E-class Visa: Start by applying for a regular E-class visa (not a tourist visa) from a Cambodian consulate.

  2. Convert to a Retirement Visa (ER): Once in Cambodia, extend your visa through the Cambodian Immigration Department to convert it to a retirement visa. Just complete the application, pay the fees, and submit your documents.
  3. Gather Required Documents: Ensure you have the necessary documentation ready:
    • A passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date
    • Proof of financial stability (e.g., bank or retirement fund statements)
    • Proof of retirement (such as pension or social security documents)
    • Three (3) recent passport photos
  4. Submit Your Application: Submit your completed application along with the required documents to the Cambodian Immigration Department. Pay the applicable fees and await approval.

  5. Visa Approval and Validity: Once your retirement visa is approved, your Cambodia Retirement Visa (ER) will be valid for 12 months , allowing you to reside in Cambodia for a full year. Once it expires, you have the option to renew it for another year, with the added benefit of multiple-entry access.
